Information for doctoral students
For all current information, please join the StudOn group of the SSC Physics.
In Downloads, you will find the doctoral regulations and a link to the FAU page Communication and Brand for the template for the cover sheet of a dissertation.
The process of a doctoral project at the FAU is generally determined by the university-wide framework doctoral regulations (only available in German). In particular, the Faculty of Science has its own doctoral regulations (only available in German). Special regulations that only apply to the Department of Physics are set out in the implementing provisions. Doctoral students are obliged to register on the docDaten online portal at the beginning of their project. For further information, the Faculty of Science’s FAQ on doctoral studies may be helpful.
Contact persons for information regarding admission and registration can be found in the office of doctoral affairs. The Doctoral Examinations Board is responsible for the doctoral examination procedure itself. The doctoral candidates representives acts as a representative for doctoral students throughout the university; in physics, there are representatives in the departmental assembly (only available in German).
