What is the ESFZ?
In the Physics department, there is the Erlangen Student Research Center (ESFZ) . In this center, interested students can conduct small research projects by themselves with professional equipment on their own selected topic.
The ESFZ organizes four times per year a research camp during the school holidays, where planned projects take place. In these camps, students can solve quizzes and puzzles and simply have fun with physics experiments among like-minded people. The accommodation and provisions are paid for by the center.

FSI
FSI stands for Physics Staff Initiative or “Fachschaftstinitiative” in German. The FSI is formed by several Physics and Mathematics volunteers, who engage for their fellow students. The FSI tasks are diverse, for example, test protocols management, events organization like course lectures, auditorium cinema, fairs, etc. Through the FSI, student interests are represented in the physics and mathematics departments. The staff is also available for concerns and questions about their studies.
The FSI invites everyone with interest to their weekly meetings, which take place every Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
