Experimental Service Center (ESC)
The electronics laboratory can also be used as an Experimental Service Centre (ESC) when not occupied by the lab course. The ESC invites students to conduct their own experiments and gain more in-depth knowledge. The laboratory equipment and PCs with scientific software are available for students to use when constructing prototypes and taking measurements as part of their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral theses, evaluating (lab course) experiments or for their own projects. Information on the ESC equipment can be found here.
To use the ESC, you must have completed a practical electronics course (usually in the 4th semester) or demonstrate knowledge of electronics.
Request for access to and use of the ESC
The following documents are required to apply for access to and use of the ESC (documents in German):

- Laboratory regulations and terms of use for the ESC
- FAUcard
- Proof of identity (if FAUcard without photo)
- Proof of knowledge of electronics/participation in electronics lab course
The documents must be presented in person at:
